Westwinds - Porthcothan, Cornwall

A replacement home on the north coast of Cornwall.  Built on a steeply sloping site, the new house was orientated to give improved views of the bay and the valley.  From a distance the lower ground floor blends into the landscape and forms a plinth for the upper floors.  Designed with views and light in mind, the brief also required some elements of future-proofing with level access and provision for a future passenger lift.
