The initial brief involved upgrading the thermal insulation of the external walls and opening up the kitchen, lounge and dining areas to each other and the view. The middle of the house was quite dark, so we were also tasked with getting more natural light in. The proposal also involved converting the garage into a games room/teenage bedroom with ensuite that doubles as a wet room. Bathrooms were upgraded and improvements made to the entrance arrangements. The most significant improvement was the insertion of stairs to create two first floor bedrooms each with ensuites. The northerly bedroom having views over the sea and access to a small balcony area. Our clients were also keen to review sustainable energy sources.
